Revolution wanted to break boundaries on sustainability in the hospitality sector.

We helped them build a communications framework around their industry-leading positive impact efforts.

And created a mindset shift across the company.

The hospitality sector isn’t known for its overt commitment to sustainability. Revolution Bars Group are serious about making a positive impact – they were the first, and remain the largest, high-street bar franchise in the UK to commit to the Science Based Targets Initiative – and saw an opportunity to be a leader in the sustainability space

They asked us to help make their industry-leading efforts relevant to their sector, and make sure they were connecting with both internal and external audiences.

We began with Revolution’s existing wins, like sustainability improvements across their bars and a Green Apple award for Best Environmental Practice. We helped them build on these successes by launching a groundbreaking commitment to science-based targets across their four core brands: Revolution Bars, Revolución de Cuba, Founders + Co and Playhouse.

From there, we developed a set of internal comms guidelines for their umbrella group and core brands, then moved onto a broad PR campaign across the hospitality and sustainability press, positioning them at the forefront of a revolution in sustainable hospitality practices.

We gave Revolution the tools to talk about their new commitments to sustainability, and make them feel relevant to stakeholders of all kinds, from internal staff to external media. Our work was also used in investor and shareholder communications to demonstrate the value-add and ROI of taking relevant and well-evidenced action on sustainability.
