The Design Museum’s 30th anniversary was a profound turning point for this great British cultural institution. Three years after moving into a new building in Kensington, they needed to bring their brand perception up to date, increase their brand visibility outside central London, and revive declining membership rates.
We built a digital campaign which spoke to The Design Museum’s profound impact on interior design, architecture, fashion, digital and graphic design over the preceding three decades, rooted in the stellar list of greats who’ve worked with the museum over that time.
Our ‘past, present, future’ creative celebrated The Design Museum’s heritage, and encouraged the designers of today to invest in their futures by following in those footsteps, and becoming a member of the Museum.
We produced an animation-led social campaign which brought this message to life in confident and attention-grabbing style, created an anniversary microsite to act as a hub for the campaign, and supported agency Leo Burnett in producing a 30th anniversary event at The Design Museum itself.
Our work delivered serious returns: over 5x returns on all our paid media spend; 40,000 views of our animations, with a 95% completion rate, and beating our KPI for new membership signups by over 200%.
